Family Resemblance

Is this what I look like when I start talking too much about something I don't know enough about? Is Theo taking after his old man?

Theo Says Hi!

I wonder when he'll start doing stuff. I want to play.

Roar! Thump, Thump!

Here's the jammies mentioned in the previous post that Theo came home from the hospital in (this picture was taken June 6, when he was two weeks old). They're quite cute. They have dinosaurs on them, with a large one saying "Roar! Thump, thump!".
I think they'll be too small by July.

Theo Over Time

On the left is Theo on May 30; on the right is Theo this evening (June 23). His head is rounder, and possibly his cheeks are more full. What is not captured in the picture is that he's probably two pounds heavier and somewhat longer: the jammies he couldn't reach to the feet of when we brought him home from the hospital are already looking small.

Bath

Theo's first bath in the sink. This actually happened a couple weeks ago (June 13). Even these old pictures are cute.

Reason To Be Concerned

Theo and Grandpa. He's not doing any better than Nana, but at least we know why.

Photo Album

Before starting this blog, I created a web album at http://picasaweb.google.com/carymatt/OurSonTheo. Maybe I'll start organizing those pictures on this blog, but until then Theo junkies can go there directly.

Bottle Feeding

Breast feeding has been going great, both for Theo and for Sara. She won't allow me to post any pictures of that to the internet, though...

Our plan has been to try pumping, so that Sara can get off the two-hour feeding leash. We finally managed to pick up a pump from our dear friends Josh & Jen last week, and over the weekend Sara pumped enough for a feeding.

Today we tried the grand experiment, and it worked great!

I caught Theo just as he was waking up & starting to root around. He was quite calm when I plunked the bottle in. He took it right away and drained an ounce and a half (Sara had pumped twice as much, but I had some bottle-transfer issues).

Here's a close up of the action.

Father's Day

My first father's day. In the morning, I made pancakes and fried bananas for Theo & Sara (Theo only tasted them once they made it through to Sara's breasts). I thought Father's Day was supposed to work the other way around, but I guess I'll have to wait a few years for that.

In the afternoon we went over to my folks' place, and spent the evening with the Martinellis. In particular, cousin Lisa & her husband Shane were there, with their new baby Kieran (a month and a half older than Theo).

Theo over time

I'm going to try to post pictures of Theo as he ages---even over three weeks, he's changed.

Here he his on his first day back home from the hospital.

A week later (and more jaundiced).

Okay, maybe he doesn't look all that different after all...

The happy family

This was taken several weeks ago.
